Winter is almost here and it’s important to make sure you home is in good condition for the cold winter months. Check out some tips for home winter maintenance:

• Clean your gutters: Blocked gutters can result in melting ice and snow to enter your roof or foundation causing serious damage.
• Evaluate your Roof: Throughout the year the severe weather can result in shingles and tiles to break and even create leaks and holes. Make sure before snow collects on your roof you make sure it’s in good condition.
• Seal the windows: Inspect your windows to see if there is a draft coming through, you should seal these windows to keep heat in and energy bills low.
• Check your attic: You want to make sure your attic has properly installed insulation and ventilated for the winter.  Ventilation lead cold air into the attic, while the insulation seals heat in your home.
• Prepare for winter storms: In the case of severe snowstorm make sure you have a fully-stocked emergency kit that includes batteries, a flashlight, candles, matches, and warm clothes and blankets.
