Settled in 1645 as Charlestown, this area was later incorporated into present day Stoneham. As of 2010, Stoneham has a population of 21,437 residents. Located conveniently of Interstate 93 as well as exits on 128, Stoneham is a suburban town with east access to the urban Boston. Its list of notable residents includes Mario Cantone, best known for his role in Sex and the City, as well as two time Olympic figure skating medalist, Nancy Kerrigan. Today, one of the biggest attractions is the Stone Zoo which sits of 26 acres of Stoneham. Some hundreds of animals call Stoneham home.
